Can I send in my old prescription or do I need to get a new one?
Our Solar Bat optometrists must receive a copy of your prescription before your order can be filled. Prescriptions should be 1 year old or less for best results. After your order, you will be asked to send your prescription to the Solar Bat office.
What does my prescription need to include?
- PD Measurement - A copy of your prescription including the P.D. measurement (distance between your eyes).
- Order Number - After you order from SolarBatShades.com, you'll be given an order number. A copy of your SolarBatShades.com invoice will also be sent to you via email immediately after you placed your order and will have the invoice number included. You can also find your order in the My Orders area of your account on SolarBatShades.com (you must have a SolarBatShades.com account and be logged in to view this information).

What is a P.D. Measurement?
Your PD Measurement means the "pupil distance" measurement.
Most adult PD’s are between 60-65mm. The average is 63mm.
To get your pupil distance measurement you need to either ask your optometrist at the time of your eye test. Most optometrist will record the PD measurement, but they may not include your PD on a written prescription. If you don't see it on your prescription, try giving your optometrist's office a call to see if they have it written down. That way you don't have to make another trip to the optometrist
Your PD Measurement is required on any prescription sunglasses order so that the center of your prescription lens is in line with the center of your eye. It allows us to provide the optimum vision in your prescription glasses.
How long do I have to wait before I receive my prescription sunglasses?
Most prescription sunglasses ship within 3 weeks after we receive your order and prescription with PD Measurement. Expect an additional time for shipping - usually 2-4 days.
Are my prescription sunglasses guaranteed in any way?
Yes! Your prescription sunglasses are guaranteed under the The Solar Bat Prescription Guarantee - Solar Bat will guarantee the accuracy of all prescription eye wear. Any prescription found not to be accurate may be returned for full credit or remake within 60 days of purchase; otherwise all sales are final.

No, they can't. Only Solar Bat has our unique polarization, lens tints, and a process that has been perfected over the past twenty years to make the best fishing, hunting and sport sunglasses on the market.
